Summer Picnic

KSG Summer Picnic 19th July 2014

Our Summer Picnic was intentionally a smaller scale occasion than past events, as we had no funding this year. Regrettably, it was the first KSG event to have suffered from a poor weather forecast – we even considered cancelling due to the promise of rain and thunderstorm.

In fact it was a pleasant afternoon with no rain. A reasonable number of children and parents turned up when the sun finally came out, and Simon Hughes put in an appearance. The egg & spoon races went down well with Fields in Trust medals and kites as prizes and Rebeka Clark’s nature experience was very popular. Lesley Taylor came along with her KSG soft toys which went down a treat – the proceeds covered the cost of advertising the picnic.

Many thanks to Rebeka Clark and Rob Rosier for volunteering their expertise and to those of the KSG Committee who helped to make the picnic happen.
